CLC Ministry Positions

MINISTRY DIRECTOR

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Make the executive decision for the ministries assigned.
  • Oversees the ministries assigned by providing oversight to ministries operational procedures.
  • Implement policies and procedures when necessary.
  • Submit all paperwork by deadlines.
  • Coordinate recruitment strategies with HOM. Recruit, plan and conduct meetings, seminars and activities to train new and existing teachers
  • Reports directly to the Pastor.
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Report major problems/conflicts to Pastor
  • Schedule monthly meetings with HOM
  • Evaluate the HOM
  • Submit reports
  • Attend training workshops
  • Complete required reading material
  • Communicate information regarding mission, vision and goals.
  • Coordinate with ministries, all programs, fundraisers, activities and disbursements of funds for supplies and projects, keeping within the budget amount.
  • Recognize, encourage and motivate all workers.
  • Pray diligently for all ministries assigned.

 

ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS:

  • Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: 10 hours a week
  • Participating in meetings/training: approx. three – six hours a month

    The head of dance ministry is responsible for the planning and overseeing a creative dance ministry that honors God and inspires the congregation.

    • ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS

    Doing ministry/preparing for ministry:a minimum of 4 hours a month
    Participating in meetings/training:a minimum 2 hours a month

    • LENGTH OF SERVICE COMMITMENT:1 YEAR
    • RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

    Develop own relationship with God through Bible study and prayer.
    Participate in training opportunities.
    Coordinate with music director to plan creative dance presentations.
    Recruit, organize and oversee creative dancers involved in creative dance ministry.
    Participate in practices/dress rehearsals as needed.

  1. Drama

    The head of drama is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the church drama ministry to ensure that presentations are as excellent and inspirational as possible.

    • ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS

    Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: a minimum of 4 hours a month
    Participating in meetings/training: a minimum 2 hours a month

    • LENGTH OF SERVICE COMMITMENT: 1 YEAR
    • Responsibilities/Duties

    Oversee and pray for all aspects of the drama ministry.
    Participate in training opportunities yearly, or as presented. Plan training sessions for drama ministry volunteers.
    Research community for resources—libraries, fine arts centers, rental centers, colleges, bookstores, local theaters—to locate sources of props, costumes, etc. for drama presentations. Keep a log of suppliers and whether you rent, borrow or buy from them.
    Look for new ideas and scripts to use in the church’s drama ministry. Select scripts, or work with a creative writer within your church to write scripts, for skits, seasonal programs, plays, etc.
    Recruit volunteers for drama ministry: actors, actresses, narrators, etc.
    Work with appropriate church staff or volunteers to construct or obtain props or materials needed for drama productions.
    Organize and schedule drama teams for skits, illustrated sermons, mimes, storytelling, clowning or whatever dramatic medium your church approves and has volunteers to carry out..
    Meet with head of dance ministry and others to inform them of upcoming needs.
    Oversee budget and expenditures for the drama ministry.

  1. Outreach

    The head of outreach will organize and oversee the outreach ministry of the church, including evaluating and planning for the future.

    • ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS

    Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: a minimum of 4 hours a month
    Participating in meetings/training: a minimum 2 hours a month

    • LENGTH OF SERVICE COMMITMENT: 1 YEAR
    • Responsibilities/Duties

    Organize and oversee the outreach ministry of the church.
    Work with media/marketing to promote a positive image of the church in the community while reaching out to community members.
    Organize and plan the neighborhood fellowship program. Program should include regular neighborhood activities, with the goals of building relationships with unchurched neighbors and CLC, by influencing them for Christ.
    Plan quarterly neighborhood visits
    Plan holiday food and toy drive.
    Pray regularly for the outreach ministries.
    Obtain and supply materials needed for the outreach ministries.

    The compassion ministry will serve as a task group to assist church and community members with special needs during crisis situations: unemployed, housing catastrophe, temporarily disabled/hospitalized, unexpected expenses, etc.

    • ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS

    Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: a minimum of 2 hours a month
    Participating in meetings/training: a minimum 2 hours a month

    • LENGTH OF SERVICE COMMITMENT: 1 YEAR
    • Responsibilities/Duties

    Oversee budgets and expenditures for the compassion ministry.
    Consider benevolent requests and verify needs.
    Collect and receive donations of money, nonperishable food items, clothing and other needs for distribution in the benevolence ministry.
    Contact those who need benevolence ministry services and arrange to deliver provisions, or schedule a time for them to stop by the church to receive assistance.

  2. Youth ministry

    The head of youth will direct and oversee the youth ministry; educate, minister to and include teens in the ministry of the church and follow up with teen guests.

    • ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS

    Participating in meetings/training: a minimum 2 hours a month

    • LENGTH OF SERVICE COMMITMENT: 1 YEAR
    • Responsibilities/Duties

    Give direction to and oversee the youth ministry.
    Identify the needs and interests of teens within the church and community.
    Plan and develop programs for the youth ministry.
    Evaluate existing programs to determine effectiveness.
    Identify and provide ministry opportunities for teens.
    Meet monthly with youth ministry leaders to pray and to discuss upcoming events, challenges, solutions and praises.
    Recruit youth workers as needed. Provide training for youth workers as needed. Plan one major training/inspirational workshop a year.
    Provide counseling and spiritual direction to teens on an individual basis.
    Participate in outreach ministry to teens who have visited the church: visits, letters, etc.
    Lead midweek Bible study for teens.
    Plan at least one yearly youth retreat for the purpose of spiritual edification.
    Visit teens who are hospitalized.
    Participate in training opportunities yearly, or as presented.
    Develop the youth ministry budget and track expenditures throughout the year.
    Compile a youth directory, have copies made and distribute to teens and youth workers.

    The welcome ministry will follow-up with first-time visitors. The welcome ministry will write letters and call people who have visited the church’s services or special events to make them feel welcome, answer questions regarding the church ministries and invite them to return.

    Participating in meetings/training: a minimum 2 hours a month

    • LENGTH OF SERVICE COMMITMENT: 1 YEAR
    • Responsibilities/Duties

    Be familiar with church ministries and opportunities.
    Send a follow-up letter to everyone who visits the church. Information will be provided by Hospitality. The purpose of the letter is to
    Welcome them to the church and thank them for visiting
    Tell them about upcoming special events, sermon or lesson series, etc.
    Invite them to come again
    Call people who have visited church services or events to thank them for coming, ask if they have any questions about the church ministries or would like someone from church to visit them, and invite them to return again. This call should be made within three days of the visitors’ attendance at the church service or event. Visitor information will be provided by Hospitality.
    Pray for every person to whom you call and mail a letter.
    Oversee budget and expenditures for the Welcome ministry.

    The new member ministry is responsible for welcoming new members, providing helpful information, helping them feel at home and bonding them to the church through relationships.

    • ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS

    Participating in meetings/training: a minimum 2 hours a month

    • LENGTH OF SERVICE COMMITMENT: 1 YEAR
    • Responsibilities/Duties

    Become familiar with the church facilities.
    Enroll new members in the new member’s class.
    Coordinate new member’s class.
    Be aware of the church’s ministries. Answer new member’s questions regarding ministry opportunities available.
    Introduce new members to current members—especially those who may have common interests/family life/ages, etc.
    Make a point to greet new members every week for at least the first six weeks.
    Maintain a record of the new member’s gift assessment.
    Oversee budget and expenditures for the new member’s ministry.

    The head of intercessory prayer will organize and oversee the church prayer ministry.
    Anticipated Time Commitments

    • Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: 7 hours a week, MUST have a daily prayer life
    • Participating in meetings/training: Group prayer once a week, ministry meetings one hour a quarter( if needed)
    • LENGTH OF SERVICE COMMITMENT: 1 YEAR
    • Responsibilities/Duties

    Recruit and train volunteers to serve in the ministry.
    Organize a contact list for emergency prayer chains.
    Develop, a rotation schedule for prayer warriors to pray before and during services and special events.
    Contact appropriate leaders to share praises and prayer requests.
    Be available daily to receive requests and distribute to the prayer team.
    Keep a current list of prayer warriors with names/addresses/phone numbers.
    Pray for every request you receive.
    Oversee budget and expenditures for the prayer ministry.

  1. Marketing

    To use your skills and expertise to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the ministry of the church through available media such as mailers, flyers, newsletters, email blast, billboard, website and any cutting edges marketing to increase the visibility of CLC worldwide.

    • ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS

    Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: Four hours a month
    Participating in meetings/training: a minimum 2 hours a month

    • LENGTH OF SERVICE COMMITMENT: 1 YEAR
    • Responsibilities/Duties

    Prepare budgets for projects and submit to front office for approval.
    Oversee budgets and expenditures for the marketing ministry.
    Graphic designs of all programs, logos, pictures and marketing materials church wide.
    Maintenance of all building signage and banners.
    Oversee website design and maintenance.
    Create and develop templates for CLC church wide inside ministries that correspond with the vision of CLC.
    Review all marketing material from inside CLC ministries.
    Develop a full staff marketing team
    Oversee and supervise production of all ministry marketing and publish material prior to release
    Create marketing plan for church growth
    Create marketing strategies to move CLC into the community and worldwide
    Work in cognition with audio/visual ministry
    Create marketing materials for cd, dvd and book covers. This includes but not limited to: weekly services, special events and message series.
    Oversee design of Facebook and YouTube
    Update all media with current events,
    Organize all photos of events
    Mange all photography and photo shoots for Pastor, Lady Ruth and church wide.

    The head of ushers will oversee the Usher and Greeter’s ministries to ensure that every person entering the church is greeted and that visitors are offered assistance as appropriate so that everyone feels important and welcome and is able to find his or her desired destination easily.

    • ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS

    Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: Four hours a month
    Participating in meetings/training: a minimum 2 hours a month

    • LENGTH OF SERVICE COMMITMENT: 1 YEAR
    • Responsibilities/Duties

    Greet members and guests.
    Direct or lead visitors to their desired destination.
    Introduce visitors to church staff, teachers and members of similar age when possible.
    Open doors for/assist the elderly or disabled.
    Recruit and coordinate schedule of ushers and greeters to assist with welcoming and directing others on a regular basis as well as for special events. Maintain a list of greeters’ phone numbers and addresses.
    Oversee the welcome center operation.
    Recruit and coordinate schedule of parking lot attendants to assist with traffic flow, visitor and handicapped parking and directions for all church services and major events.
    Oversee budget and expenditures for the ushers and greeters ministries.

  1. Nursing

    The head of the nursing ministry will be responsible to render first aid as needed during church services, activities and events. This person must show a caring and concerned spirit in calming and ministering to individuals who need first aid.

    • ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS

    Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: Four hours a month
    Participating in meetings/training: a minimum 2 hours a month

    • LENGTH OF SERVICE COMMITMENT: 1 YEAR
    • Responsibilities/Duties

    Be available during church services, activities, events.
    Provide first aid to members/visitors needing such services.
    Transport or arrange transportation to the hospital when necessary.
    Teach CPR (or arrange to have another qualified individual teach) to the pastoral staff, church leaders and congregation.
    Develop and coordinate a yearly community Health fair.
    Create fundraisers for the nursing ministry.
    Keep a record of all people treated by the ministry.
    Oversee budget and expenditures for the nursing department.

  1. Men’s ministry

    The head of the Men’s ministry will organize and lead a ministry that builds up and helps the men of the church become spiritual leaders and provides an avenue of outreach to men in the community.

    • ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS

    Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: Four hours a month
    Participating in meetings/training: a minimum 2 hours a month

    • LENGTH OF SERVICE COMMITMENT: 1 YEAR
    • Responsibilities/Duties

    Pray regularly for :
    Men in the church
    Families in the church whose men do not attend.
    Men in the community at large
    Organize and oversee the men’s ministry.
    Plan special courses for training men to become spiritual leaders in the home, church and community
    Plan at lease one yearly retreat for prayer, fellowship and encouragement: a men’s rally event, special camp, lake retreat, etc
    Organize a regular meeting for accountability, building relationships and spiritual encouragement through prayer, devotions and sharing.
    Plan activities and special programs for men only: prayer breakfast, church improvements day, fishing, father/son events etc.
    Develop a mentoring network where spiritually mature men can identify with and give support to men going through similar situations.
    Report special needs to the Pastor.
    Oversee budget and expenditures for the men’s ministry.

  1. Women’s ministry

    Job Description: The women’s ministry director will provide direction and vision and will organize, coordinate and oversee the women’s ministries of this church.

    • ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS

    Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: Four hours a month
    Participating in meetings/training: a minimum 2 hours a month

    • LENGTH OF SERVICE COMMITMENT: 1 YEAR
    • Responsibilities/Duties

    Meet regularly—perhaps monthly—with the women’s ministry
    Be available to talk with women’s ministry leaders about concerns or needs they may have.
    Participate in special events and activities for women.
    Work with the women’s committee to plan a special yearly trip to an inspirational event for women.
    Read, research and evaluate materials on women’s ministries and apply what you learn to this church’s women’s ministry.
    Provide training opportunities for women leaders in the church.
    Pray regularly for the women of the church.

    • Responsibilities/Duties

    Oversee the entire music ministry of the church.
    Choose music for the choir.
    Organize, maintain and update the music library.
    Schedule weekly and special rehearsals.
    Recruit new members for the music ministry.
    Select and coordinate congregational songs with sermon topics and seasonal themes. Lead congregational singing.
    Supervise church pianist, organist, drummer and choir leaders.
    Coordinate with sound technician as needed.
    Oversee budget and expenditures for the music ministry.
